Valentine's Misunderstanding

AN: This has no action in it it's just a romance story
    between Serena & Darien.  The usual 
    disclaimer applies, but the character Matt is mine 
    and the story belongs to me too.

Chapter 1: Discovery

~Febraury 1st; 1:00 P.M.~

(((Andrew's P.O.V.)))

	Darien sat staring at nothing at all. A small
smile played across his lips and he looked very serene.
He was at the arcade even though it was already closed,
but I was still working and talking to Darien, even
though I was sure he wasn't hearing a word.
	"Hey Dar! Dar? Darien!" I yelled. *I wonder 
what's up with him lately? He's been really spaced out. 
Could he be crushing on a girl? Whoa, Darien!*
	"So Darien, who is she?" I inquired (innocently 
of course).
	"Huh???"
	"Who is she?" I asked again.
	"What are you talking about, Andrew?"
	"Come on, Dar it's obvious you're  crazy about a
girl." I chuckled softly as Darien blushed a deep
reddish color.
	"I don't know what you're talking about, Andrew."
	"Fine, if you don't wanna tell me that's your 
business and I won't bother you about it," I stated.
*I'll just wait 'till tomorrow* I knew Darien would
be at the arcade and all I needed to do was watch Darien
to find out who this mystery girl was.*

~February 2nd; 3:30 P.M.~

(((Andrew's P.O.V.)))

	Serena Tsukino came prancing though the arcade
door and over to the counter. "Guess what, Andrew, I made
a 81% on my test and I didn't have detention today!" she
said happily. 
	"Whoa, good job!" I congratulated her. 
	Serena then proceded to play the new Sailor V 
game. This didn't at all suprise me, but then I glanced 
at Darien & what I saw did suprise me. He was practically
droolong all over Serena!!! *Whoa, who would have ever 
thought?* But my thoughts were interupted by a male voice
	"Um...excuse me...I was looking for Serena
Tsukino, is she here?" The guy introduced himself as Matt.
	"She's over playing the Sailor V game" I stated 
and then glanced at Darien. He was eyeing the boy
suspiciously and I noticed a glint of jealousy in his 
eye.
	"Thanks" the boy said and went over to Serena.
After talking for a minute, they left the arcade together.
Two minutes later Darien got up and walked out.

~Ten minutes later at the park~

(((Author's P.O.V.)))

	Serena and Matt walked silently down the path in
a comfortable silence. Serena sighed with happiness...
happy about no dentention, happy about passing her math
test, and happy she hadn't klutzed out in front of Darien 
in the arcade. Matt broke the silence.
	"Um...Serena, do you think if I was to ask Mina
to dinner tonight she would say yes?"
	"Well, probably not tonight, she's doing something
with her family tonight, but if you ask her tomorrow she 
probably would.
	"Okay, I will then. Thanks Serena!" Then Matt gave
Serena a hug and walked off, leaving Serena alone. Or so 
she thought, she didn't know she was being watched by a 
pair of deep midnight blue eyes.

~Later that day in Darien's apartment~

	Darien tried to concentrate on studying his 
physics book, but no matter how hard he tried, his thoughts
always drifted back to the park when he hadn't heard the 
entire conversation but had heard Matt say somthing about
dinner, and then when they hugged. Darien felt a slight 
pain of jealousy, oh, who was he kidding? He was turning
green with jealousy. *Ugh, Darien, she is four years 
younger than you! Get a grip!* 
	"Why do I care so much about her?" he said to 
noone. *I wondered what could they be doing together, 
could Matt be Serena's boyfriend?* That thought nagged at 
the back of his mind continually the rest of the night.

~February 6th; at the arcade~

(((Author's P.O.V.)))

	Serena came skipping in just as Darien was leaving
and WHAM!!! Serena ran straight into Darien and both fell
to the floor with a thud.
	"Hey, Meatball Head!"
	Serena just glared at him with anger in her big,
blue eyes, because unlike him she had noticed that 
everyone in the arcade was staring at them.
	'Clap' 'Clap' 'Clap' Andrew was applauding them
with a smile that told Darien he had been caught. Soon, 
the entire arcade was clapping and Serena and Darien were
both blushing furiously. That's when Andrew got his most
inspirational idea ever. Valentine's was in eight days and
he was going to play cupid.

~An hour later~

(((Serena's P.O.V.)))

	I sat in a booth nest to Molly and I was wishing 
my friends would stop hasseling me about running into 
Darien.
	"Serena? Sere? SERENA!!!" Rei yelled.
	"Huh?"
	"Ugh.. you act like such a Meatball Head!"
	I, of course, had no clue what she had been 
talking about, so I just sat there dumbly. I had actually
been thinking about what Darien had felt like when I ran
 into him.
	"So Serena, how often do you run into Darien?" 
Mina asked slyly with a glint of michief in her eyes.
	"Oh..no...Mina, no way, no how, you are not even
going to try to set us up" I protested. *Even though 
secretly I loved the idea!*
	"Well, do you have anyone to go to the 
Valentine's dance with at school?" Lita asked, trying to
act innocent, although she wasn't successful at all.
	"WHAT???" I practically yelled.
	Mina, Rei, and Ami all the sudden cought Lita's
drift.
	"Excuse me, I need to go talk to Andrew" Lita 
said and then walked off with a wink.
	The only thing I thought of the rest of the time 
we were at the arcade was what it would like to be 
dancing with Darien's arms wrapped around me.

~Lita and Andrew's conversation~

(((Author's P.O.V.)))

	"Hi Andrew."
	"Hey Lita, what's up?"
	"Andrew, do you think Serena and Darien would 
make a good couple? I mean, I think Serena secretly 
likes Darien, but's afraid to tell anyone."
	"Really? This is great! Because I know Darien has
got to be in love with her! I mean, he's different when 
he's around her, it's kinda hard to describe."
	"I think I know what you mean. Listen! There's 
gonna be a Valentine's Dance at school, do you think 
Darien would take Serena?"
	"Well, I don't really know. Darien's kind of shy 
sometimes." Andrew answered.
	 "I feel like I'm I should have a bow and arrow 
and then go around shooting at them." Lita giggled.
	"I've got an idea! Bring all your friends here 
at 9:00 tomorrow and we'll think of a plan to get them 
together." Andrew instructed.

~Sometime at the Park~

(((Darien's P.O.V.)))

	I sat alone on a bench in the park. I had a
physics book in front of me, but I was thinking about 
earlier that day.

***Flashback***

	I walked into the arcade and ordered a coke.
	"Andrew, are Serena and Matt dating?" I asked.
	"No, not that I know of...um...Darien are you
do like Serena more than you let on?" Andrew asked.
	"NO! Me? Like 'Meatball Head'?" I practically
shouted. Although, I had to admit I secretly liked 
the idea of me and Serena together.
	"You're in denial, Darien!"
	"I am not!"
	"Yes you are!"
	"No!!!"
	"Alright, if that's what you say" Andrew said and
then he smiled mischeviously.
	It was at that time I decided I wanted to be 
alone. So, I started to head to the park, but only made 
it to the doors before a certain Meatball Head ran into
me. WHAM!!! Serena ran straight into me and we both fell
to the floor with a thud.
	"Hey, Meatball Head!"
	Serena just glared at me with anger in her big,
blue eyes, I immediately felt horrible.
	'Clap' 'Clap' 'Clap' Andrew was applauding us
with a smile that told me I had been caught.

***End Flashback***  

	Andrew was right and I knew it only he didn't
know just how much I liked her. *I love her. I love her? 
I love her!* It was at that moment that I realized that 
I did love her, and I wanted her to love me. More than 
anything I wanted her to love me...

	Okay, I know it was short, but this story will 
probably move along rather quickly, I don't want this to 
be a long story, because I'm working on others. Please
